Job Description
You will be expected to have a mature, wise head on your shoulders. We’re
not just looking for business or IT experience or aptitude, we are looking for
people with a desire to see businesses transform through the application of
your skills. We’d expect you to take responsibility for your own actions and to
drive projects forward, overcoming hurdles confidently and calmly. Our
consultants have real compassion for what our clients are trying to achieve.
We need people with the ability to apply themselves to our client’s issues,
intelligently. Sometimes that involves ‘thinking out of the box’ sometimes its
just common sense and applying proven methods and techniques. We don’t
always reinvent the wheel. Whatever we do, we make it happen.
Our consultants work in partnership with clients to overcome their business
challenges through better business processes and/or the application of
technology. A consultant's work will often be based on the need to improve
efficiency and the way a company functions. Often IT is used as a means to
achieve this.
You are our greatest ambassador for Jejo with very close customer contact.
The daily routine of our consultants is usually very varied. Consultancy
projects can last from a few hours to several years, depending on the client's
requirements. You will be expected to manage your time, tools, and energy.
Some or all of the following activities will be undertaken:
• Meeting with clients to determine requirements
• Working with clients to define the scope of a project
• Planning timescales and the tools needed
• Clarifying a client's system specifications, understanding their work
practices and the nature of their business
• Travelling to customer sites
• Liaising with staff at all levels of a client organisation
• Defining software, hardware and network requirements
• Analysing problems and making recommendations
• Developing agreed solutions and implementing new systems
• Presenting solutions in written or oral reports
• Helping clients with change-management activities
• Project managing the design and implementation of preferred solutions
• Purchasing systems, where appropriate
• Designing, testing, installing and monitoring new systems
• Preparing documentation and presenting progress reports to customers
• Organising training for users and other consultants
• Being involved in computer sales and support and, where appropriate, maintaining contact with client organisations
• Supporting, guiding, mentoring less senior members of staff
• Reporting concisely, clearly to other colleagues
We expect our consultants to actively seek to regularly increase their skills
through membership of industry societies, attendance at seminars, and
identifying further training; not just through on the job experience.
You will be expected to deliver work of high standard. With your dedication and
passion for the job, we’ll help you as required.
We need people with skills and interests in different industries – both product
and service industries. Above all if you are from an IT background, you need
a bias for business. Likewise, if you are from a business background, you
need an awareness for IT. Our ideal person has a harmony of business and
IT skills. |
